04 May 2024 Frankfurt am Main (Germany)
KiezPalast
hr-Sinfonieorchester (Hesschischen Rundfunk) conducted by Roland Kluttig - Alte Oper, Großer Saal
Program Info: hr-Sinfonieorchester (Hesschischen Rundfunk) Roland Kluttig, conductor Ulrich Tukur, moderation / acting / singing / accordion
As if we were the first to have the feeling of living in an ever more closely timed world. The second edition of KiezPalast shows that it was no different in the 1920s. The Frankfurt Radio Symphony and emcee Ulrich Tukur devote themselves to speed and find plenty of turbulence on the subject in classical music, film music, jazz and chanson. Whether at the speed of a Ride of the Valkyries, a space flight or a flight of the Hummel: the actors pick up speed in this cross-genre and cross-epoch concert evening, which leaves room for composed and improvised music, for texts and sounds, for great orchestral sound and small scenes. And don't worry: breathers are planned, for example with Ligeti's »Atmosphères,« a work in which time literally stands still.
From Wagner to Ligeti, from Star Wars to Flight of the Bumblebee, from classical to jazz. An orchestra concert with songs and scenes, sounds and texts
