Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration
Orchestre National de Lyon conducted by Timothy Brock - Auditorium-Orchestre National de Lyon, Grande Salle
Program Info: Long before Disney's first major films, many short films whose heroes were neither Mickey nor Donald were a dazzling creative laboratory for the animation teams of his studio and enjoyed immense public success. Of some seventy-five short films that were made between 1929 and 1939, some, presented today, have become true classics: Le Vieux Moulin , Les Trois Petits Cochons or Le Vilain Petit Canard . Each of these films − stuffed with "hits" of symphonic music − marked a technical evolution in the history of cartoons: passage from black and white to color, evolution of special effects... This epic is told to us by Walt Disney him -even between different shorts.
