Een Avond Filmmuziek (An Evening of Film Music)
Göttinger Symphonieorchester conducted by Nicholas Milton - TivoliVredenburg, Grote Zaal
This concert is sold out.
Program Info: An evening full of the most beautiful and famous film music played by the Göttinger Symphonieorchester under the direction of chief conductor Nicholas Milton.
Film music can no longer be ignored in concert halls. Independent of the film, the listener travels to beloved film moments or to their own dream places. Film music maestro's John Williams and Hans Zimmer only need a few bars to create the right atmosphere. The Göttinger Symphonieorchester takes a grand tour of iconic Hollywood soundtracks.
Iconic Film Music As long as the film has existed, there has been film music. Even before sound film was invented, pianists, organists, ensembles and even entire symphony orchestras were already in the movie theater to provide exciting music for silent films. To this day, music is still an essential part of any good movie. Sometimes it is so iconic that you don't need the image at all to immediately get back to the atmosphere. Two bars of Star Wars and you'll immediately see the starships dart across the screen. A minute of twinkling opening sounds from Harry Potter and you immediately experience the magic of the sorcerer's apprentice again.
John Williams with the Göttinger Symphony Orchestra
The AVROTROS Friday Concert brings an evening with the most famous film music by Nino Rota, Hans Zimmer and Klaus Badelt, among others. The greatest of all is undoubtedly John Williams, nominated 52 times for an Oscar, of which he won five. He is the main composer of this program, which is performed by the Göttinger Symphonieorchester and its chief conductor Nicholas Milton. Orchestra and conductor caused a furore in Germany last season with their program Nacht der Filmmusik . Close your eyes, enjoy the most beautiful film music and imagine yourself as Indiana Jones, ET or the bloodthirsty shark from Jaws .
