28 February 2024 Moscow (Russia)
Masterpieces by Ennio Morricone
State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia" conducted by Nicola Giuliani (Italy) - Moscow International Performing Arts Center, Svetlanov Hall
Program Info: Ennio Morricone is a recognized classic of world cinema, he has worked with many outstanding directors - from Sergio Leone and Pier Paolo Pasolini to Quentin Tarantino. His most famous work is, of course, the main theme of the Once Upon a Time in America saga. It is the music in this film that places "atmospheric accents" and enhances the overall magic.
Simple poignant melodies, interesting arrangements and piquant timbres of non-traditional instruments for the orchestra - all this glorified the name of the Italian composer. Ennio Morricone is the undisputed leader in the number of written music for films. Winner of two Oscars (for outstanding achievements in cinematography and best music), three Golden Globe awards, nine-time winner of the Italian national film award David di Donatello, six-time winner of the BAFTA award and many others, he created about 500 soundtracks .
The concert is attended by the youth chamber choir Vox Cordis , which includes students and graduates of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky and the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music. The team is headed by the laureate of international competitions Serafim Yakovlev.
The program includes: music for the films "Funny Story", "Once Upon a Time in America", "Professional", "Investigation of a Citizen Beyond Suspicion", "Octopus-2", "Once Upon a Time in the Wild West", "Mission", "Good , bad, evil", "The Untouchables", "The Legend of the Pianist", "Malena", etc.
