A jazz-infused love story about a young mosquito dreaming of playing in one of the greatest jazz bands of all time, The Storyville Mosquito incorporates miniature sets, live puppetry, cinematography, live music by Kid Koala with a jazz trio, and a team of foley artists. This show is part of the TO Live Presents fall 2022 season.

This charming love story follows a young mosquito as he leaves his small town in the country to seek fame and fortune in the big city and fulfill his dream of playing in one of the greatest bands of all time at Sid Villa’s Music Hall.
A multimedia experience, The Storyville Mosquito incorporates miniature sets, puppetry, cinematography, and live music by Montreal’s Kid Koala and a string trio. Each show is performed, filmed, projected, and scored in real time to tell a jazz-infused story of a mosquito who leaves his small town to seek fame and fortune.
Kid Koala is a world-renowned scratch-DJ, producer, performer, and graphic novelist. He has released five solo albums, many collaborative albums, and two graphic novels. He’s toured with Radiohead, Arcade Fire, and Beastie Boys, and has contributed to film scores such as Baby Driver, Looper, The Great Gatsby, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Kid Koala’s multi-disciplinary productions have toured five continents.
