Lumiere Grand Lyon Filmfestival: Eastwood Symphonic - Music from Clint Eastwood's films
l’Orchestre national de Lyon et le Quintet de Kyle Eastwood conducted by Stephen Bell - l’Auditorium de Lyon
Program Info: Music from Clint Eastwood's films interpreted by the National Orchestra of Lyon and the Kyle Eastwood Quintet
Kyle Eastwood, with his Quintet and the Orchester national de Lyon, will pay tribute to his father Clint Eastwood (who won the first Prix Lumière, in 2009), during an exceptional symphonic concert on Wednesday October 19, 2022 at 8 p.m. Auditorium of Lyons.
It was at the age of 13 that Kyle Eastwood shared the poster for Honkytonk Man with his father, the story of a musician in the twilight of his life on his way to Nashville. Years later, it was as an accomplished musician and recognized jazzman (several albums to his credit, successful tours) that he reconnected with Clint Eastwood's filmography by arranging or composing for him several soundtracks of his films. It is thus found in the credits of La Relève , Mystic River , Million Dollar Baby , Memoirs of our fathers , Letters from Iwo Jima , L'Échange , Gran Torino , Invictus and Jersey Boys .
"Eastwood Symphonic" is the tribute of a son to his father, actor, director but also musician. For this musical road movie, concocted with the complicity of Gast Waltzing, Kyle Eastwood and his Quintet will join the magnificent Orchester national de Lyon during the Lumière festival, under the direction of Stephen Bell, to offer a rich and original interpretation of the melodies of the films of Clint Eastwood.
The soundtracks of films made between 1964 and 2009 will follow one another, like sequence shots linked by the conductor's baton. It is a way of saluting the work of their directors and their composers, arrangers, conductors, from classical music or jazz.
