Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel in concert
Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock conducted by Markus Huber - Volkstheater Rostock

Program Info:
Karel Svoboda - Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel

"A hat with feathers, a crossbow over his shoulder - but it's not a hunter. A silver knit dress with a train to the ball – but it's not a princess.” If you can crack this riddle, you're undoubtedly part of the huge Cinderella fan base. All fans of the Czech cult film can already look forward to the coming Christmas season: After sold-out dates last year, the wonderful fairy tale classic will finally be back in brilliant cinema format and with a large orchestra.

The Czech cult film from 1973 is now as much a part of Christmas as candlelight and the scent of fresh pine needles: It's no wonder that many people just can't get enough of watching Cinderella follow her heart on her ride through snow-covered forests and finally her prince charming and the find great love The fairy tale film conquered millions of hearts not least because of the music of Karel Svoboda, whose theme tunes for cartoons such as "Maya the Bee", "Wickie" or "Nils Holgersson" have all become an integral part of collective memory. But one thing seems to surpass them all and evoke feelings of happiness in many people: the music to which the princess on her white horse races through the snow to happiness.
