Internationaler Filmmusikwettbewerb – Filmsinfonik
Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich conducted by Frank Strobel - Tonhalle
Program Info: Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich Frank Strobel, conductor Sandra Studer, moderation Rachel Portman, jury president
The International Film Music Competition is taking place in the Grosse Tonhalle for the tenth time – a celebratory anniversary for an extraordinary event. How much film music can shape the effect of a film will be shown again this year when several soundtracks for Barney Cokeliss' short film "The Foundling" will be presented. A jury chaired by Rachel Portman will decide which is the most convincing; the British actress was the first woman to win an Oscar for best film music for her soundtrack to "Emma" in 1997. And then the Swiss guitarist and film music composer Marcel Vaid, who has already been awarded the Swiss Film Prize four times (most recently in 2019 for "Chris the Swiss"), will also be introduced.
