Orchestre National Montpellier Occitanie conducted by Ka Hou Fan - Opéra Comédie
Program Info: Bernard Herrmann and John Williams know perfectly well the fragile condition of the film composer: producer and director rely on his music to restore meaning, hide silences, save the day. When, a few months later, the musician discovers the result on screen, he no longer even recognizes what he has done: everything has been cut, edited, transformed! A reality to keep in mind while enjoying this colorful program, featuring among others the first composer in the history of cinema (Camille Saint-Saëns) and Paul Dukas, far from suspecting that his symphonic poem would one day Mickey for hero in Disney's Fantasia.
On the program: Bernard Herrmann (1911 – 1975) - Psycho suite for string orchestra Modest Mussorgsky (1839 – 1881) - A Night on Bald Mountain Paul Dukas (1865 - 1935) - The Sorcerer's Apprentice Camille Saint-Saens (1835 – 1921) - Danse macabre, symphonic poem opus 40 Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) - Peer Gynt n° 1 opus 46 – In the Castle of the Mountain King John Williams (1932 – ) - Suite Harry Potter
