Blossom Music Festival: A Salute to America

Program Info: During Independence Day weekend, the Blossom Festival Band takes the stage for the first time in two years, performing a mix of patriotic songs, marches, and works by American composers — including Cleveland Orchestra favorite John Williams. Fireworks follow the performances on July 3 & 4 (weather permitting). Leading the Band is Loras John Schissel, a senior musicologist at the Library of Congress and the long-time conductor of the Blossom Festival Band. In a new Q&A, Schissel reveals that he is excited to reunite with the musicians and audience members he looks forward to seeing every summer.
Blossom’s traditional star-spangled celebration with the Blossom Festival Band returns with a program featuring patriotic marches, an Armed Forces salute, selections from John Williams's film scores, and more — concluding with fireworks (weather permitting)!
