Young French conductor Chloé van Soeterstède is our guide on a study tour to the world of the orchestra. Benjamin Britten wrote his Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra for a teaching film about the instruments in an orchestra. Using a theme borrowed from Purcell and passing it through 13 variations, he ushers in each section of the orchestra in turn.
