With Korngold and Steiner, two Viennese composers are on the truly cinematic programme, who decisively shaped the early years of American sound film and whose works had a great influence on John Williams, for example. Italian and Italian-American cinema was carried by the likes of Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone, while Michel Colombier knew how to use his French charm above all in Hollywood.
