Selected Concert of Ryuichi Sakamoto's Piano Works
Jin Yu, piano - Shanghai Concert Hall

Program Info:
There is a saying: "There are only two kinds of people in the world, one is who likes Sakamoto Ryuichi, and the other is who doesn't know Sakamoto Ryuichi."

Sakamoto Ryuichi is affectionately called "Professor" by music fans-because he is knowledgeable and personable. He is one of the most popular and well-known composers in modern times: Faye Wong wrote him in songs, Keigo Higashino described him in the book, Michael Jackson once sang his songs, and European churches used his music as a bell. Sounds, young people all over the world are wearing t-shirts with his head.

In China, he is best known for the soundtrack of the movie "The Last Emperor". At the same time, his most classic song "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" ("Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence") is widely circulated, and its influence even surpasses Oshima Nagisa's movie "Merry Christmas on the Battlefield" itself. Billboard magazine once commented: "Half of his works are soundtracks, but they are so attractive in themselves that they can be enjoyed alone as pure music."

Sakamoto Ryuichi is a musician with amazing imagination. Therefore, we cannot describe or summarize his music in one sentence. Only by listening to his music can you feel that unique charm.

This concert featured Sakamoto Ryuichi’s widely circulated and well-loved classic piano music, performed by Jin Yu, a young pianist and doctor of piano in the United States.

Special statement: Mr. Ryuichi Sakamoto is not attending this concert. The actors, repertoire and sequence are subject to the performance of the day!
