An evening of music, fantasy and storytelling as the Reno Pops Orchestra returns to the concert stage with Fables and Fairytales! Picture the ancient desert city of Palmyra as the hypnotic passages of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Symphony No. 2, Op. 9 (Antar) weave a captivating tale; experience the timeless passion of Antony & Cleopatra, an original composition by David Coyner, Grand Prize Winner of the Reno Pops Orchestra’s 2020-21 Composer’s Night Competition! KOLO 8 TV’s Jeff Thompson and Denise Wong will be on hand to chronicle Aesop’s Fables and recount Winnie the Pooh’s antics as well. Other compositions (Peer Gynt, anyone?) are sure to fire the imagination and delight music lovers of all ages. Save the date!
