Hollywood in Prague
Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague conducted by Martin Šanda - Obecní dům, Municipal House

Program Info:
The Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague will present the best of Hollywood music in the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House in Prague 30.11.2021
With its programme Hollywood in Prague, the unique Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague takes to the stage of the most prestigious concert hall in the Czech Republic, inviting its audience on one big cinematic journey. The Smetana Hall of the Municipal House in Prague will be dominated by the melodies of the greatest Hollywood blockbusters.
Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones and Titanic are all titles that have shone on the silver screen and etched themselves into the hearts and memories of audiences of almost all ages not only with their story but also with their brilliant film music. An evening with the famous Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague (BSOP) will recall these now classic box office hits and many more.
The concert will also feature tunes from the immortal romantic comedies Love Actually or Bridget Jones's Diary. During the 75-80 minute concert, which will not be interrupted by an intermission, there will also be tunes from recent hit movies and TV series. These include the haunting opening track from the fantasy saga Game of Thrones or the unmistakable strains of Shallow, made famous by A Star is Born, which won its composers, including singer-songwriter Lady Gaga, the 2019 Academy Award for Best Film Score. Gaming fans will also be in for a treat with tunes from films based on video games such as Uncharted and The Witcher.
All this and much more will be enjoyed by an orchestra of sixty musicians. "Film music is unique in its ability to engage audiences across genres and connect audiences of all generations." says Martin Šanda, chief conductor and director of the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague, who founded the ensemble in 2002.
