Condor Gruppe - ‘Daughters of Darkness’

The Antwerp band Condor Gruppe has already released several top albums. Last release 'Interplanetary Travels' was a bull's-eye. "The better, haunting and cinematic instrumental work", online magazine daMusic noted. New work will be released early 2022, something to look forward to. In the meantime, during VIDEODROOM, the band will focus on François de Roubaix's masterpiece for the film 'Daughters of Darkness'.

Daughters of Darkness' is a surreal erotic vampire film from 1971, made by the Belgian cult director Harry Kümel. We won't give away much about the plot, but the words 'horror', 'blood' and 'sadomasochism' should win us over. A leading role is reserved for our queen of seaside resorts. Reviewer and author Geoffrey O'Brien about the film: "If Fassbinder had made a vampire movie it might have looked something like this."

The soundtrack of this film is by François de Roubaix, a self-taught musician and jazz enthusiast. He has composed almost a hundred soundtracks, mostly for French films. For 'Le Vieux Fusil', he posthumously won a César in 1976 for the best soundtrack. Posthumously, because Roubaix died the year before. For Condor Gruppe, the Roubaix has always been a great source of inspiration. So they are only too happy to bend the dark, hypnotic score to their will. A unique, exclusive show!
