»Ich küsse Ihre Hand, Madame!« Schlager des Tonfilms der 1920er Jahre
Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie conducted by Ernst Theis - Köln Philharmonie
Program Info: Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie Ernst Theis, conductor Matthias Klink, tenor Natalie Karl, soprano
It was the first sound film hit - the evergreen "Ich küsse Ihre Hand, Madame" sung by Richard Tauber in 1928. And soon composers like Werner Richard Heymann were also penning popular hits like "Ein Freund, ein guter Freund" and "Liebling, mein Herz lässt dich grüßen" for the legendary sound film operetta "Die Drei von der Tankstelle". Soprano Natalie Karl and tenor Matthias Klink now take us back to the golden era of the German sound film hit. Both are at home in the great opera houses. But both are also absolute fans of all the wonderful operetta melodies and early sound film earworms.
