SzegEd TRombone ENsemble - National Museum, Ornament Hall

Program Info:
One of the most important groups of instruments in symphony orchestras is that of brass instruments. These include the horn, trumpet, trombone and tuba. What they have in common is that the instrument is made of metal, a special copper alloy, and that they all have to be sounded with a funnel-shaped nozzle. Despite these common features, these instruments are very different: they have different pitches, tones, volumes, and each has a different musical expression. At our concert today, we will get to know the trombone. The name of the instrument in German is posaune, which is why it is often called posan. Its Italian name is trombone, this name has also been taken in English and French, it is also used in the name of the band. The trombone has a strong voice but is not sharp, it can also sound like a singing voice. It has also been used in church music for a very long time, several trombones together saylike the organ and can be perfectly accompanied by a congregational singing with a choir of trombones. They are very fond of using this instrument in military music, jazz, film music. We hear examples of all this in the program of the trombone ensemble from Szeged.
