Concerts for grandchildren and grandparents 2
Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV conducted by Edit Székely - National Museum, Ornament Hall

Program Info:
Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV
Edit Székely, conductor
Mihály Demeniv, accordion

This is the first time the protagonist of our concert has performed at the Grandchildren and Grandparents concerts. Mihály Demeniv plays the accordion, almost 10 years ago he won the television talent search competition for young musicians with this instrument. Since then, he has been a professor at the highest level institution of Hungarian music education, the Ferenc Liszt University of Music. The accordion is often said to be an organ that can be packed in a bag, as it produces sound in the same way: from a large air tank, high-pressure air flows into small whistles and thus sounds them. Mihály Demeniv's concerts always feature Astor Piazzolla, Argentina's most famous composer, who put the national dance of his country, the tango, at the centre of all his works, and the accordion is the most characteristic performer of this dance.Dances of other peoples will also be performed in the program of the concert, it will be very interesting to compare their world of rhythm and melody. The program of the concert is conducted by the newly appointed leading conductor of our orchestra, Róbert Farkas, who began his conducting studies at the Budapest Academy of Music, then finished in Berlin and has since conducted in several opera houses and orchestra concert stages in Germany.
