For some, roasted almonds are a must at Christmas time, for others it has to be hazelnuts - exactly three pieces. The eyes of fairy tale fans should already light up, as these nuts are the three most important magic utensils in one of the most beautiful fairy tale films in the world. Since its cinema premiere in 1973 in what was then Czechoslovakia, “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella” has meanwhile been broadcast in over 50 countries around the globe and brings a little fairy-tale magic into our living room every year at Christmas time.
This winter, the beautiful Cinderella and her prince can look forward to a very special stage again: The Smetana Hall is transformed into the setting of the enchanting love story for a few hours. While the fairy tale film takes its course on the big screen, the film soundtrack by the Czech composer Karel Svoboda, played live by the 21st Century Orchestra, almost turns the audience into attendees of the court ball. And if you look very closely, you might even discover a delicate shoe on one of the steps ...
