Robin Hood, silent film with orchestra
Nürnberger Symphoniker conducted by Adrian Prabava - Musiksaal in der Kongresshalle

Program Info:
Neil Brand / Timothy Brock - Robin Hood

The legendary myth from Merry Old England: Robin Hood, the dazzling fictional character from the Sherwood Forest who takes the rich and gives to the poor. Towards the end of the silent film era, US director Allan Dwan brought it to the screen in a magnificent production for Hollywood in 1922, with Douglas Fairbanks - the greatest film star of his time - the pen for the script and the bow and arrow for the action scenes of the fairytale coat -and-Degen-Films seized.Symphony Pluspresents the gripping film as the German premiere of the new soundtrack setting by the award-winning British silent film musician Neil Brand. "My music," says Neil Brand, "highlights Fairbanks' sense of fun - his joy in his stunts, his self-deprecating comedy." At the podium: the German-Indonesian conductor Adrian Prabava, once the protégé of Kurt Masur and Bernhard Haitink.
