The Star Wars Suite
The International Symphony Orchestra from Lviv conducted by Raymond Janssen - World Forum Theater
Program Info: The International Symphony Orchestra from Lviv Raymond Janssen, conductor The National Choir of Ukraine "Dumka"
More than 150 musicians will bring the music of Star Wars to life this autumn in a unique concert series in the Netherlands. Led by conductor Raymond Janssen, the International Symphony Orchestra from Lviv will perform the world-famous soundtracks from the Star Wars films. They are supported by the National Choir of Ukraine 'Dumka' and combine the songs into a radiant whole. Heroic and explosive parts alternate with sublime music. The Star Wars Suite was already seen with great success in the Netherlands in 2018 and 2019 and is therefore returning for a reprise.
The Star Wars Suite is a grand and compelling musical spectacle that drew packed halls in the Netherlands in 2018 and 2019. It is not for nothing that the phenomenal score and soundtracks of Star Wars have been proclaimed the 'best film music of all time'. The soundtracks were composed by John Williams and appeal to both classical music lovers and fans of the films. The score is an integral part of the success of Star Wars. Williams is therefore without doubt the greatest American film composer ever. Star Wars was his breakthrough. The symphonic music from the film became instantly legendary. At the end of the 1970s, when synthesisers were on the rise, Williams was inspired by composers from the 1930s. The famous Imperial March is the most famous example of this. It is almost iconic and is enhanced by spectacular choral elements. It contrasts perfectly with the modern high-tech elements of the film. The Star Wars films are among the biggest blockbusters of the 20th century. Williams succeeded in accompanying the breathtaking images musically in an impressive way. The success of Star Wars motivated him to present the film music live to a large and worldwide audience.
