Music makes the cinema!
Chamber Orchestra Symphonique du Pays Basque - Cinéma Saint-Louis

Program Info:
In this program Accordes.com praises the immense talent of composers such as
Vincent Youmans, Henri Mancini, Charles Chaplin, Michel Legrand, Ennio Morricone, Raymond Lefèvre, Vladimir Cosma and Nino Rota.
Since the invention in 1895 of the Cinematograph (camera and projector assembly) by Brothers Auguste and Louis Lumière, the cinema has produced a multitude of animated images and by extension an abundance of musical scores composed to illustrate them!
Film music, in its role of illustrating images, has long been discredited, neglected in concert hall programming, and therefore ignored by music lovers and the general public!
But, little by little, this cocoon of simple sound support has been overtaken and these wonderful compositions, these “original tapes”, live and exist well independently of the images for which they were intended.
