On March 11, 2021, Astor Piazzolla, the most important and popular musician of the second half of the twentieth century for the Tango he revolutionized, would have been 100 years old. The day of his birth in Argentina became “Tango Day”, commemorating one of the greatest musicians in this country. The violin, double bass, clarinet, bandoneon and piano Quintet pays homage to this immortal genius on this occasion in a program that offers to navigate among a selection of his most famous music. This bouquet of tangos symbolizes not only the centenary of an exceptional composer, but also the collaboration, sharing and friendship of these five musicians from the Opéra Orchester national Montpellier Occitanie.
