The December Young Philharmonic will bring us a bit closer to Christmas with songs by Arcangelo Corelli, music from the movie The Lion King and the most beautiful Christmas carols and songs. The Silesian Philharmonic Choir and the Silesian Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Maciej Kotarba will take care of the proper atmosphere, and in a word, Regina Gowarzewska will introduce the audience to the world of music.
The first concert will be the Concerto grosso, Op. 6 No. 8 Arcangelo Corelli's Christmas night . It is one of the most beautiful of the series of 12 concertos in opus 6. Maintained in the key of G minor, it places the solo violin and cello in the foreground. Thanks to this form, it became the nucleus of the later form of the violin concerto. The eighth Concerto grosso takes its name from one of its links, Largo-Pastorale , "fatto per la notte di Natale", which means "intended for Christmas night".
Then we will be enchanted by songs from adored by children - and adults too! - The Lion King movie , to which Hans Zimmer and Elton John wrote the music. The audience will surely recognize every note of the arrangement prepared by Dariusz Zboch, and maybe… will start singing along with the Silesian Philharmonic?
During the December meeting, there must also be Christmas songs and Christmas carols, which will introduce the Christmas atmosphere full of family warmth and joyful anticipation.
