Amadeus American film by Miloš Forman (1984) original version with French subtitles
Vienna, November 1823 . An old man, Antonio Salieri, composer at court, tries to end his life. He claims to be responsible for Mozart's death thirty years earlier. He tells the story of the rivalry between him and Mozart, who arrived in Vienna in 1781, preceded by an enviable reputation ... Miloš Forman's film paints a jubilant portrait of a complex and contradictory Mozart, sometimes overexcited, sometimes of seriousness extreme, just like his music. Far from the sadly stuffed film, Amadeus is an irresistible symphony of images, a visual ode to music, awarded 8 Oscars, 4 Golden Globes, a César, among other international awards, when it was released in 1984. The music is composed Mozart of course, but also Salieri and Pergolèse. It is performed live by the Orchester national Montpellier Occitanie and the Choir of the Opéra national Montpellier, joined by the young singers of the Opéra Junior. The emotion will only be increased tenfold.
