Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer
Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg conducted by Lorenz Dangel - Nikolaisaal, Großer Saal
Program Info: Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer (Jim Knopf and Lukas the engine driver) Germany 2018 Director: Dennis Gansel Music: Ralf Wengenmayr
"The country in which Lukas the train driver lived was only very small." With this famous first sentence from Michael Ende's children's book published 60 years ago, Dennis Gansel's loving "Jim Knopf" film also begins, for which no expense or effort has been spared : In the Babelsberg film park, not only was Lummerland created, but a complete volcanic landscape. It was also shot in Bavaria and Cape Town. In addition to the prominent cast, Ralf Wengenmayr's soulful, atmospheric music also contributed to the success of the cinema, including an orchestral version of the Augsburg puppet box evergreens »An island with two mountains ...«.
The concert will be accompanied by the sign language interpreter Jan Sell.
