Sunrise - A Song of Two Humans (Silent film with live orchestra)
Nürnberger Symphoniker conducted by Adrian Prabava - Musiksaal in der Kongresshalle

Program Info:
Joe Kraemer Sunrise - A song of two humans

Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau was one of the most important directors of the silent film era - a pioneer of cinematography, trend-setting in his psychologizing image management as well as in his novel camera work and assembly technology. His most famous film is Nosferatu - A 1922 Symphony of Horror. Four years later, Murnau went to the United States. His film Sunrise - A Song of Two Humans, produced by Fox, won three Academy Awards at the first Academy Awards. A rural idyll and a city flooded with light form the optical poles of the film, the plot of which is based on the story The Journey to Tilsit by Hermann Sudermann: A simple farmer loses the seductive charms of a glamorous urban beauty and is driven to kill his wife. When he tries to throw her overboard on a boat trip, a look in her eyes warms his heart again - remorse and guilt, trials and tribulations of love. The Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra will play new music composed by Joe Kraemer in 2016. The German-Indonesian conductor Adrian Prabava is the conductor.
