Program Info: Imagine 100 musicians, singers and soloists on stage in the concert hall's iconic setting performing Ennio Morricone's legendary film music, with conductor Marco Seco at the forefront. It's happened before, and now, fortunately, it's happening again!
Get ready for an unforgettable evening at the DR Concert Hall with the Milan Festival Opera, which consists of a total of 100 musicians, singers and soloists. The orchestra is composed of musicians from all over Europe for the sole purpose of presenting Ennio Morricone's legendary film music on their grand and extensive tour.
Behind the orchestra runs a mix of the original scenes, visual animations and graphic setups with images from the films displayed on a large canvas, creating an exciting, almost hair-raising, dynamic atmosphere between the movie screen and the live orchestra.
Conductor Marco Seco, who himself formed the orchestra, was born in Buenos Aires, while his family hails from Italy. Most recently, he co-founded LaFil Filarmonica di Milano as guest conductor and works with Italian prominent concert masters from, among others, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Teatro alla Scala, RAI di Torino, the Teatro Regio di Torino, and the Pomeriggi Musicali di Milan.
World renowned film composer Ennio Morricone received his latest Oscar in February 2016 for Tarantino's "The Hatefull Eight". Ennio Morricone has composed over 500 works for film and TV, as well as over 100 independent works.
The highlights of Ennio Morricone's works count, for example. the iconic music for films like "Once Upon a Time in the West", "Once Upon a Time in America", "A Fistful of Dollars", "The Untouchables" and "The Mission".
One of Morricone's best-known works, the soundtrack to "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", ranks 2nd on the list of the best movie soundtracks of all time.
