Hours in Your Company
Aarhus Symfoniorkester conducted by Pierre Bleuse - Musikhuset Aarhus, Symfonisk Sal
Program Info: Philip Glass is - without comparison - the most famous contemporary living composer, and his minimalist universe is equally loved in the concert hall and in the darkness of cinema. The suite from the movie "The Hours" is a piano concert created by equal parts restrained melancholy and fateful preconceptions. Danish pianist Tanja Zapolski plays both the piano concerto and two of Glass' solo piano etches.
From minimal expression to maximum walking in the street: At Copland we get Americana in bucks with two atmospheric images from the Wild West. They exude nostalgic love for the prairie's vast expanses and robberies.
Stravinsky, of course, was not an American - and yet: he spent his final years in the country, and the version of the Petruska suite that we need to hear here is created in the United States. The colorful and imaginative work on the tragic Petruska gives the audience another chance to hear Tanja Zapolski in the great piano voice of the suite.
On the podium we present Pierre Bleuse, a conductor who is making a name for himself with engagements in high-profile orchestras such as Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Russian National Orchestra.
