The music of Game of Thrones
Philharmonic Orchestra - Tempodrom
Program Info: Ramin Djawadi - Game of Thrones
The fantasy novel series, to which the successful TV series Game of Thrones is based, already has music in the title: The Song of Ice and Fire. Because the novels are composed in many layers like a symphony. Accordingly, the original film music by Ramin Djawadi combines everything that the worldwide success of the TV series Game of Thrones based on the template of the American writer George R.R. Martin makes up on TV: drama, passion, love, hate, surprising twists and turns, sometimes unbearable tension. The gripping music also describes the vastness of the landscape, the freezing cold, the smacking of the mud of a battlefield, shimmering heat and of course the ecstatic stumble of the main characters - sometimes out of mad love, sometimes out of blind hatred. Lies and shame, shame and triumph, farewell and innocence are congenially implemented musically. Ramin Djawadi has created music that stands for itself. He himself will not be present at the concerts.
This year, the successful series will once again be experienced in a concert with 150 participants in a philharmonic orchestra and choir on German stages. All arrangements were written by Franz Bader, who was very successful last year with his format and previously with Game Music Live.
