Star Wars: The Last Jedi - In Concert
Orchestre de Paris conducted by Carolyn Kuan - Philharmonie de Paris, Grande salle Pierre Boulez
Program Info: John Williams - Star Wars: The Last Jedi
So rare are undoubtedly the spectators who do not have in mind the famous and sinister "Imperial March", associated with the fatal Darth Vader, the occasion is less frequent to taste the subtleties of the partition of John Williams, who since the originally signed the music for the saga. A kaleidoscope of character themes (Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Yoda) and theme themes (the “Awakening of strength”, the “March of resistance”) structures the narration on a large scale, in the best tradition of a "space opera" who obviously owes Wagner a debt. For The Last Jedi, John Williams constitutes an alloy of parts belonging to the first trilogy (in particular The Empire strikes back) and original pieces, in which his technique and his illustrative palette are more than ever deployed. The contrasts of atmospheres, from the lyric effusion to the epic grandeur, prove if it was necessary that the orchestra, holder of a "Force" which is well worth that of the Jedi, is one of the "stars" a spectacle.
