On November 21 and 22, Tobias van de Locht will conduct pastorals and treasures in Witten and Sprockhövel, including Granville Bantock's paintings from the Scottish Highlands for the first time and, as another top rarity, the Concertino pastorale by the Czech Petr Eben. Further pastoral and serenade-like music from the baroque period to the present rounds off the varied program. The conclusion is consequently Haydn's Symphony No. 24, which corresponds to the type of the hunting symphony (Sinfonia da caccia) with horn signals and sounds and dances close to nature. Five woodwinds from the Witten Symphony Orchestra will perform as soloists in the concert.
