The Genius of John Williams
Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey conducted by Daniel Spalding - War Memorial Patriots Theater
Program Info: Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey Daniel Spalding, conductor Jonathan Wintringham, saxophone
We are ready now to soar back into space with “Star Wars” and “E.T” by the preeminent movie composer of our time, John Williams. Everyone has heard this extraordinary music, but to hear it live as played by the Capital Philharmonic is a powerful experience you won’t want to miss. Joining us for another extraordinary John Williams score, an already classic film “Catch Me If You Can,” is saxophone virtuoso Jonathan Wintringham. “A major force in the saxophone world” (American Record Guide), internationally acclaimed saxophonist and recording artist Jonathan Wintringham has been described as “absolutely stunning…nothing short of a virtuoso” (‘The Sax’ Magazine, Japan), and “a saxophonist of unusual sophistication…changing his color in ways so sensitive that he bordered on alchemist” (Philadelphia Inquirer). He has given recitals, master classes and residencies throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, England, China, South Korea, and Japan, and received awards in more than twenty international competitions. The exhilarating music of John Williams is coming to the Trenton War Memorial; be prepared to experience the awesome power of the Capital Philharmonic. May the Force be with you!
