Star Wars: Return of the Jedi — In Concert
Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg conducted by Ben Palmer - Tempodrom
Program Info: John Williams - Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
George Lucas completed the original trilogy of his Star Wars saga in 1983 with "The Return of the Jedi Knights". Cult characters like Yoda and Darth Vader, fantastic locations like the desert planet Tatooine or the second Death Star and Oscar-winning special effects fascinate viewers of all ages until today. The award-winning soundtrack by John Williams has helped the space epic achieve cult status. A galactic journey of cinema and sound awaits the audience when the third film of the science fiction saga arrives in the concert halls.
While a symphony orchestra plays the impressive soundtrack live, the film is shown in full length on a large screen. The second, even more powerful Death Star, which is supposed to seal the final demise of the rebels, is about to be completed. The rebels unite their forces on Moon Endor to fight against the Empire and the dark side of power. Meanwhile, Luke returns to the remote planet of Dagobah to complete his Jedi Knight training with Master Yoda. From him he learns that he will have to face his father, Darth Vader, one last time. While the attack on the Death Star begins, there is another lightsaber duel between father and son.
